Back in Brizzle

It's been a while, hasn't it?

I'm back at university to complete my final year (hooray!) and Mr.Pigeon has of course come too. He intends to become an educated bird and has decided to study Ornithology...from my bedroom window.

Due to this inconvenient having-to-finish-a-degree business and lack of crafty goodness, posts may become quite irregular and maybe a bit dull until Christmas. I also ask you to excuse me if I don't get to comment on your blogs as much as I would like to during term time. I will be lurking though! And updating. But don't worry, I have a lot of photos of exciting things saved to show you before I have to resort to rambling on about 20th century Spanish women's literature or German post-war poetry.

Coming soon are pictures from the Russian Doll Swap and a VERY exciting private swap as well as some good news for The Pigeon Loft.

But before all that there is some catching up to do.

Most of the latest batch of pigeons have arrived in their new homes...

  • Mr.P 031 touched down in Singapore to meet his new owner Cheryl.

  • There is not one but TWO Hennypennies named 'Gloria'. The first arrived in Rutland over the summer to befriend Liz's rescue chickens and the second has found lots of chickeny chums chez Moog.

  • Mr.Pigeon 041 (the first pigeon in the new yarn) has been named Hector and has made a lot of woolly friends at Jaqui's house. She has kindly allowed me to use her photos of his arrival...

Wish I was as well travelled as these little birds!

If we count the countries we visit in blogs then we are all very worldly indeed.

It's a pain you've got so much work to do - but rest assured - I still dream I have exams and assignment deadlines at my advanced old age!!! In fact I keep dreaming I've been sent back to do my A'levels again only to discover I haven't been to any of the lessons, or done any work and the exams are the next day - aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhh!

Wahey! Welcome back to Brizzle - that's where all the cool kids hang out. Like me! And VC! .... and I just proved how uncool I am by saying "cool kids" didn't I? Dammit ....

Anyway. Don't work too hard, take plenty of fresh air (up on the downs) and exercise (walking around Cabot Circus) and remember to take Mr P with you at all times in case any good photo ops arise. Oh, and eat plenty of doughnuts. For sustenance, natch. (Did you find Krispy Kremes yet??) (.... actually, don't tell me. It's probably best that I don't know ...)

:)

ps. The new colour looks great - the untrained eye would never know.

Welcome back to the UK, both you and Mr P.

Don't know whether you're interested, but I have some German and Spanish texts that I'm getting rid of (sadly I have to pay the mortgage by teaching languages, which cuts down a lot on time to make stuff...) - I've had a big clear out of the stock cupboard - if you need anything, let me know - it may be in there and it will only go to the recycling centre otherwise.

One of these days you should organise a pigeon reunion. Think of the tales they could tell each other!

(Mr P017 says hello, and he is watching the fire after hiding from four year old partygoers this afternoon)

Hooray! Back in Brizzle! It's where all the best people hang out, don'tcha know ;o)

Any luck tracking down that stone carving yet?? If not, I'll give you a clue: apparently it's meant to be a dolphin, not a fish/whale/dragon/whatever else it may resemble (nope, I didn't expect it either, but I've checked and apparently that's what it is!) Happy dolphin-spotting... :o)

What does Mr P think about Cabot Circus my lover? That new glass roof must be annoying the pigeons!
