Bag, bloggers and bird

You'll be pleased to know this isn't another one of those posts where I try to hide the fact that I've been making nothing by distracting you with photos of pigeons.

It's been quite a productive day.

The finishing touches were put to this bag for a friend's 21st. It has cow print lining and a cow on the front. I tried to machine stitch "moo" onto the pocket too but failed miserably. Any tips on writing with a sewing machine?...

I got the metro bright and early (by student standards) to Whitley Bay where I met Clare and Lucy . We sauntered to Ring-a-Rosie, the finest wool shop in Whitley Bay, spent far too much money then went for a chat and a coffee. But I wasn't expecting to be showered with gifts!

Clare gave me a birthday card and this beautiful door-hanging cat. The colours are perfect (bet you're glad I didn't go for the obvious pun there) for my room and I can't get over how professional it looks...

Lucy gave us each a bag containing chocolate (not in a photographable state I'm afraid) and this fabtastic wallet. I love the fabrics and again it's extremely well made (with a zip and a popper and everything!) Now I can have a "home" and "abroad" purse to avoid euro/pound confusion.

Thank you so much, ladies- it really was great to meet you both and we had a lovely morning.

Who's "we" you say?

Mr.Pigeon and me of course!

It was such fun meeting you and Mr Pigeon (and don't forget Woolysaurus too - dinosaurs are sensitive too you know!)

I would love to have a fraction of your talent for design - please start making cards and other goodies for your Etsy shop soon - you are wasted on that languages degree!!!!

I'm very impressed with how you edit your photos too - how d'ya do that then???

Charlie the cow bag is fab, you clever girl. I agree entirely with Lucy, you are wasted on languages and need to get your crafty talents out there for all to see.

Thanks for a lovely day, we must do it again.

Kitty looks very happy in her new home :)

So glad you had such a great day with HRH Lucy and Clare - of course I was not in the slightest bit envious......

I do hope you asked for a clean cup for Mr Pigeon.....how do you get cappucino froth off a pigeon's bum?

OOOOH I am jealous now. No, really, I bet you all had a wonderful time. Aren't Lucy's wallets fab? I have completely abandoned my boring old brown one now.

Charlie - you've made my day! I found you via Clare's blog. You are one funny lady!! Your pigeons are super cute too!! You're lucky that you aren't in the same country as my mum.... she'd very happily take that cow bag off your hands. She's COW MAD! Shall add you to my favs... thanks for your humour and frivolity! :)
Kind regards,
Maree.

Hi Charlie, thanks heaps for visiting and leaving a message. :) I'm hesitant in starting another quilt like the two I've already made - I may lose patience while halfway through it and never finish it!! Shall see!! I meant to say the other day .... I love your new wallet! It's beaut! Take care and have a great weekend. Regards, Maree.

Wow! Love your blog and all your crafty goodness! That little penguin in a cup is just too cute... I'll have to go have a look at your Etsy store I think :-)

Oh Oops! Just realised the "penguin" is actually a pidgeon! Sorry! It's still very cute :-)

Wow - presents too!!! I am so disappointed you, Lucy and Clare don't all talk with 'real' Geordie accents...Lucy phoned me to prove to me she was actually a pseudo Geordie.
Yes, I agree with Lucy - who needs a rubbish degree in languages, that won't get you anywhere ;) crocheted animals - that's the way to go (you're parents would be soooo proud)
