Extraordinary Eggs and Pigeon Post

Miss Hennypenny got back to her nest after a long day to find a mysterious shiny egg...

...maybe if she sat on it something would happen...

...to her surprise it hatched!

She clucked at Mr.Pigeon to come and have a look at this strange white egg and they pecked it open to find a pleasant-smelling gloopy substance...what was it?

.........

Oh dear- must have been a champagne truffle.

In other news, Mr.Pigeon 019 who flew off to meet his new owner Monkee Maker in Bristol last month arrived safe and sound and is already being spoilt with coffee, muffins, seed, a trip to Iceland and his very own photo collage! (If you haven't read this brilliant post...which is unlikely...then you must!)

And finally, as I'm far far away (in Germany) and new pigeons will only be available once I get home in summer (yes, I know it's a long way away but postage from Deutschland is VERY expensive) I've decided to start a little mailing list to let pigeon fanciers know when they become available. If you would like to be added then please let me know your e-mail address via the pigeon loft e-mail address (above).
Have a great weekend!

Miss Hennypenny looks very confused - and I'm not surprised! I love her ball of wool nest! I would love to be on your mailing list - don't know how I'll wait until the summer though - you'll have to make loads of pigeons between now and then!!!

Careful - you'll be done for cruelty to poultry and have Hugh Fearnley Whatsit on your case!

They do make a lovely couple though!

Ha ha - I love the chicken and the egg story! (Also think it's really clever how your pictures have white backgrounds. Do you shoot them on white or do you cut and paste? Please spill your trade secrets ....)

Thanks for the kind words and shout out about my post .... I'm still bebating over a name for Mr P 019, but thought that yours was very fitting.

:)

ps. I LOVE champagne truffles, so please rest assured that if your birds don't like them, I can take them off your hands if you need me too .....

I love you story ! I am glad I am not the only one making stories with softtoys. I have a piggy named gruikgruik and he's been travelling with us all around the globe. He is very fond of his new pal Mr pigeon 018 named Leon.
I am looking forward to the next adventure of Mrs Hennypenny and Mr Pigeon.

I love your chickens - they look just like the plasticine ones in Nick's Parks's film "The Chicken Run"!!

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the b'day wishes for RGH, and the compliments .... Greg is such a pleasure to draw!

Regarding the tablet, I got this one ....

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aiptek-600U-Slim-Tablet/dp/B000UCHF38/ref=pd_bbs_8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1206305896&sr=8-8

.... and I love it! I didn't do much research into them before I got it, and the reviews I read were mixed, but I like that it's A4 size, so you're drawing in 'real size', plus it was Vista compatible.

Hope this helps (and I hope the link works) ....

:)

I saw Greg on MM's blog and thought I'd ocme and see what your other feathered friends were up to. Poor things - a champagne truffle has that effect on me too!
