HAPPY PANCAKE DAY!

(Yes, I know it was yesterday, but shhhhh...)

Are you feeling peckish? Mr.Pigeon was, so we got out his little pan, little bowls and little utensils to make some pancakes fit for pigeons.

You will need:

Pigeon-sized bowl and utensils...

...and a willing chef.

Mix 135g flour, 1tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt and 2 tbsp caster sugar in a large bowl. Mr. Pigeon's bowl was a bit small, so he only used a fraction of the amounts.

In a separate bowl or jug, whisk together 130ml milk, 1 large egg and 2 tbsp melted butter.

Pour the liquid into the dry mixture and beat until smooth.

Get your ladle handy...

Heat butter or oil in a little pigeon-sized pan. Add a ladle of batter to the pan and when the pancake begins to bubble, flip it over and cook until both sides are golden brown.

Remove carefully from the pan with a spatula.

You should have enough for a lovely stack of pancakes.

They look a bit dry on their own, so go mad with the maple syrup.

That's better!

HAPPY PANCAKE DAY!

It's definitely a happy day if Mr Pigeon is involved! But I am a little concerned about how messy he was when he was mixing his ingredients. He needs to slow down on the whisking! Lovely to have you back in Blogland Charlie! Lucy xx

I can see my little P is going to need to equip himself with kitchen utensils - all he seems to do is sit around and watch us!

Wonderful to see you back!
