Mini Quilt Swap

After all the drama of last week I reckon it's time for a nice craft-related, non-violent, gingerbread-friendly post.

First of all (becuase I failed to make it appear at the bottom)... LOBSTER BISCUIT!

...which I couldn't resist and which was delicious in case you were wondering. Much better than real lobster.

Even more exciting was the parcel which arrived earlier this week. It was my "mini quilt swap" quilt from Nicky in Australia.

I love tortoises and requested something to bright to cheer up my boring German walls so Nicky came up with this original design which I absolutely love:

It's a shame you can't see so clearly on the photo, but her stitching is amazingly neat. This quilt has everything- buttons, ric-rac, freehand quilting, embroidery and beautiful fabrics. Even the back is beautifully done:

And if that wasn't enough, she also sent me a pretty handmade card and 3 balls of wool. Thank you so much again, Nicky!

Of course I knew exactly what to do with the red, white and blue yarn...

Isn't that the coolest pigeon tank top ever! And an adorable quilt too.

You lucky girl! What a treat...and Mr. Pigeon? Well, I think you might be spoiling him! Does he know that not all Pigeon's have a wardrobe that includes handmade sweaters? Better remind him of that next time he tries to eat the little Gingerbread guy! LOL!!!

Love your quilt from Nicky! I'm very jealous of people who can make beautiful quilts like that.

Mr P looks very smart in his new tank top, too.

The quilt is lovely!
Mr P. is really spoiled! Did you knit it to distract him, so you can eat your lobster in peace?

Sure the quilt square is stunning -- stupendous, but I am IN LOVE with your pigeon! lol Too cute. I grew up raising pigeons and to find your blog and your ... uh... not-so-feathered friends is marvelous!

Your mini quilt is lovely, so cheery.
Mr. P looks very smart in his Union Jack tank top, but I still think he needs an NUFC one, will see if my needles are up to it!

Lovely quilt - it made me smile, especially with all that detail.

A lobster biscuit though? How weird. Is that traditional over there?

I think Mr P is having a Geri Halliwell moment.

I think there are lots of pigeons strutting around London VERY jealous of Mr. P's fine garment.

a lobster BISCUIT? What does it taste like? I am very intrigued y'know.

I love that mini quilt, you lucky little moo. And Mr P looks fine and dandy in his vest (put a knotted hanky on his head, please, then send him off to Benidorm for his hols)

That is a good idea of Katy's; send Mr P to Benidorm. His experience of Allymanny will help him get the better of the deckchair baggers, and when he wants a change of scene, he can fly further up the coast and come and sort out my Ring Neck dove problem. Just make sure he brings his cork screw...
