"Coooooooooooo!"
I only wanted a nibble, I promise, said Mr.P.
But I still made him apologise to Fred...

Fred told Mr.Pigeon not to worry about it.
But what drives a young pigeon to such violence?
It soon became clear that it was all my fault. I've been trying to cut down on all those tasty German sweet things. Without his daily dose of cake, Mr.Pigeon was suffering withdrawl symptoms and even began to hallucinate...

It soon became clear that it was all my fault. I've been trying to cut down on all those tasty German sweet things. Without his daily dose of cake, Mr.Pigeon was suffering withdrawl symptoms and even began to hallucinate...
So after taping Mr.P's beak closed (in case of further incidents), I dashed out to the nearest Patisserie and returned with one big bag and one small bag...
...one for me and one for Mr.P...
...although somebody didn't seem to think this was fair...
...and made a beeline for the biggest pastry...for MY pastry.
Oi! Pigeon! No!
Oi! Pigeon! No!
I wasn't having any of it...
MWA HA HA HA HAAAAAAA!
...and before I get any e-mails about pigeon cruelty, no pigeons were (badly) harmed in the making of this post.
Anyway, after he had stopped sulking and I had promised not to let him go too long without cake again, Mr.Pigeon decided to make it up to Fred by sharing his pain au chocolat.

Hooray for Mr P!! I knew he was innocent!
I think he must have sustained a blow to the head when you so casually flicked him - what other explanation could there be for sharing a Pain au Chocolat?

Pastry and cakes can often save the day. That's a very happy Hollywood-style conclusion. Is there an alternative Heidelberg Horror ending? I'm concerned something sinister might happen after all. I think lack of sleep is giving me dark pigeon thoughts!
I'm just a little concerned about the pigeon flicking... but happy to see things have turned out okay for all concerned.
I am glad to see the Fred remained nibble free and that Mr Pigeon got his cake and got to eat it too!!
Thanks for making me smile!
Ha, ha, ha,that Mr.P, will he ever learn? Thank goodness for cake is all I can say.

(love the pigeon flicking by the way)
I love what you've done in your blog. Thank you for entertaining me!
Cathy
Ah Ah AH ;0))))) Brilliant!
Poor Mr. P, being cake starved...
But I must admit that I am impressed by Fred's forgiveness.
shutting my eyes to the flicking......
but could not help but notice the rather huge belly on that pigeon - he clearly needs to be popped in a massive box and sent on a retreat to North Scotland whereupon he will under go some serious exercise starting with a little sheep herding.
ask the piggy pigeon what he thinks......

Snort. Poor Mr P! But isn't it bordering on cannibalism for Fred to be eating (shhhh) pastry? It might have been his cousin!
I know exactly how Mr. P feels. I get a little testy myself when there is sweet deprival :).

Nowt wrong with a bit of Pigeon Flicking if said pigeon deserves it!!!
Good to see tasty treats were shared.....but.....
surely Fred was close to cannibalism there. Wasn't that pain au chocolat like a distant cousin or something......??!?!
Ooops! I thought I'd already commented! I think I forgot because I was laughing so much that I made Dorothy come over and read it too and then it must have been turned off.
Such a hilarious post Charlie - especially the day-dreaming and the pigeon flicking - I was laughing out loud at that one!
Thank you for cheering up a boring Sunday afternoon!

brilliant post. That has made me laugh so that I nearly spilled my drink on the keyboard.
We had pain au chocolat for breakfast this morning... only the sarah lee bake it yourself kind... my son is obsessed with it, and with Paris since I took him there in May.
I'm hungry now!
Very funny. I'm glad to see you are teaching Mr pigeon true values, ie we always each pastries before gingerbread men.
hehehe! Your post really made me smile this morning!
Phew! I'm so relieved it all turned out OK! I'm a sucker for a Happy Ending :o)

Charlie - this made me laugh so much - his little face looking at the small pastry and then at the big one - SO fabulous!! Best giggle I have had all day!
