Last year we had a picnic at Cragside and this year we decided on a trip to Holy Island (Lindisfarne).
It was a bit cloudy at first...
...so we headed for the tearoom...
...which, to Mr.Pigeon's dismay, was not very pigeon-friendly.
In the afternoon the sun (and a horse) came out...
...and it seemed like a good opportunity to take a photo of Mr.Pigeon ruining posing in front of the beautiful view...

I don't suppose Mr.P was very pleased with that notice, but it was very funny. he does like to hog the camera so perhaps they've got a point about birds being vain!!!
It looks like a grand day out for Mr P. The notice is right - those birds are vain!
I just love those colourful teapots, enhanced by Mr P posing next to them :)

We're having a few minutes a day of autumnal weather here in Houston (very rare this time of year), and I actually had a pot of tea yesterday. Ah, I can hardly wait till winter. Looks like you and Mr. P had a wonderful time on your outing. The scenery is gorgeous (and the bird sign is hilarious!).

I remember having similar "grannies days out" when I was at uni - one of our favourite places was the beach at Alnmouth. Mr P looks like he had a good time even if that sign was rather unfortunate. I bet tea and cake soon cheered him up. Lucy x
what a MARVELLOUS trip out. Mr P looks very pleased with himself.
Nice one Mr P. Did you rob anyone's fish and chips (surely traditional for a bird at the seaside)? Watch out for peregrine falcons - they're partial to a spot of pigeon on toast!
Glad that you had a great day. Maybe next time you have to pick somewhere that's a bit more "Mr P" friendly! As others have said - he does love pictures, he does love eating, and stealing the limelight! Sounds like the weather has changed slightly since you had your grannies day out! What do actual grannies call their days out?!
How lucky you are to have such nice places to go that are nearby! Did the other "grannies" enjoy their day out too? Sadly, I think Mr P is probably rather more well traveled than me.

Well I hope Mr Pigeon explained that he wasn't anything like those birds.
What a lovely place to visit - the last picture is beautiful. Those mixed coloured teapots are fab!
I've wanted to go to Lindisfarne for ages! And don't knock Grannie's Days Out - when you get to my age they're about the only decadent pleasure you have left (cue sound of violins).
